“Nice overall but the staff do not anticipate needs. They lost me as a customer at this location after my second stay her”
Location
Sadly, it’s not up to the 5 star Four Seasons standard.

Both sit on Canal Street within a few blocks of each other, so location isn't the deciding factor. The Four Seasons at $746 a night has the spa, pet-friendly rooms and a golf tie-in the JW Marriott lacks, plus the higher guest rating on fewer, more curated reviews. The JW Marriott at $298 is nearly 60% cheaper, rated only slightly lower despite far more reviews, and gives most travellers everything they actually need. Book the Four Seasons for a special occasion at the foot of the Mississippi; book the JW Marriott for a very good, much cheaper week in the same part of town.
The Four Seasons occupies the old World Trade Center tower at the river end of Canal Street, redeveloped with the building's original 1960s bones reworked into a contemporary Southern-luxury shell: pale stone, brass fittings, deep sofas, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the upper rooms that catch the bend of the Mississippi. The lobby runs long and quiet, more hushed hotel-as-retreat than French Quarter bustle, with the spa and pool deck pulling in a guest who wants distance from the street below. It reads as calm, moneyed, and slightly removed from the city's noise rather than embedded in it.
Couples or anyone marking an occasion who wants a spa, river views and quiet distance from Canal Street's crowds.
The JW Marriott sits a few blocks up Canal, closer to the French Quarter's edge and the streetcar line, in a tall glass-and-stone tower with big windows and the brighter, more transactional energy of a large convention hotel. The rooms lean modern-corporate-plush: ergonomic desks, flat-screens, robes, nothing eccentric. The ground floor is anchored by a Fogo de Chao steakhouse and a lobby lounge doing cocktails, which gives the place a livelier, more sociable pulse than a quiet luxury retreat, and puts dinner and drinks within an elevator ride.
Business travellers, groups and anyone who wants a good room, a steakhouse downstairs, and change left over from the Four Seasons rate.
The JW Marriott gives up the spa, the pet-friendly rooms and the golf perk that come with the Four Seasons rate, along with its higher guest-rating ceiling.
The Four Seasons is the more beautiful place to sit still in, with its river-facing calm and spa-level polish, while the JW Marriott is the livelier, more sociable building to actually eat and drink in.

“Excellent stay.”
Location was great.
Parking was expensive.
“We Love Bruno and Justin”
Bruno is absolutely amazing and he accommodated us at the very last minute with rooms and service. Justin was also spectacular. We truly appreciate them stepping in. Will definitely be back!
“Very nice place definitely would stay again. Hopefully construction will be completed”
Very nice
Under construction
“Great hotel-need to fix gym”
The JW is one of my favorite hotels. As we are a Tulane family, we stay there a lot. LOVE the doormen-they are hysterical, friendly and the nicest people. The gym however was disappointing this last time. One half barely had a/c. The 2 Peloton bikes did not work: the seat on one would not stay up (liability for sure) and its pedals were not aligned, the other was not calibrated. I hope they take care of this ASAP as
