“We Love Bruno and Justin”
Bruno is absolutely amazing and he accommodated us at the very last minute with rooms and service. Justin was also spectacular. We truly appreciate them stepping in. Will definitely be back!

The InterContinental at 444 St Charles Ave runs $171 a night against the JW Marriott's $296, a gap of $125 that isn't matched by any facility the Marriott has and the InterContinental lacks. The InterContinental also allows pets, which the Marriott's listing does not mention. Both sit on the edge of the Quarter within a few blocks of each other, and the InterContinental has nearly 2,300 reviews at 9.0 to the Marriott's 672 at 9.1, so guest satisfaction is essentially a wash. On price and flexibility, the InterContinental is the easy call.
The JW Marriott occupies a modern Canal Street tower, all glass and clean lines, the kind of building that reads as corporate-luxe rather than historic New Orleans. Rooms lean on large windows, ergonomic desks and plush seating, aimed at business travellers as much as tourists. The presence of a Fogo de Chao steakhouse in the lobby area signals a chain-hospitality logic: familiar, polished, a little placeless. The lobby lounge with handcrafted cocktails does the work of a hotel bar without the patina of one.
Business travellers and steakhouse loyalists who want a modern tower close to Canal Street's casinos and shopping.
The InterContinental sits on St Charles Avenue, the grand boulevard of streetcars and old live oaks that separates the Quarter from the Garden District, a more genteel, leafy address than Canal Street's commercial bustle. Its rooms are plainer on paper, tea and coffee kit and a mini bar, but the hotel carries an outdoor pool and a 24 hour gym, amenities aimed at longer stays and families. Veranda and SoifFaim give it two distinct dining and drinking identities rather than one imported steakhouse brand, and the sheer volume of reviews suggests a hotel that has absorbed decades of New Orleans traffic, conventions, weddings, Mardi Gras crowds, without losing its footing.
Anyone travelling with a pet, families wanting a pool, or visitors who prefer the shaded grandeur of St Charles Avenue to Canal Street's neon.
The InterContinental gives up nothing on the facility list; the Marriott's higher price buys a Fogo de Chao steakhouse and a slightly newer-feeling tower, not amenities the InterContinental is missing.
The InterContinental's St Charles Avenue setting, with its oaks and streetcar line, is simply a more atmospheric place to be than a glass tower on Canal Street, whatever the room décor inside.

“Moved rooms because of ants then the room we were moved to also had issues.”
JW Marriott guests come away happier, thanks to consistently praised, attentive staff who resolve issues personally, while InterContinental guests report recurring noise and room-quality problems.

“Great hotel-need to fix gym”
The JW is one of my favorite hotels. As we are a Tulane family, we stay there a lot. LOVE the doormen-they are hysterical, friendly and the nicest people. The gym however was disappointing this last time. One half barely had a/c. The 2 Peloton bikes did not work: the seat on one would not stay up (liability for sure) and its pedals were not aligned, the other was not calibrated. I hope they take care of this ASAP as

The location is convenient.
“Good location, comfortable but I’d definitely bring ear plugs”
The hotel is very well located in the CBD of NOLA, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
I must comment that none of us got a good nights sleep, the noise from the streetcar is not terrible but noticeable but the biggest issue was numerous other guests returning from a night on the town who caused significant noise and disturbance throughout each night. The bathrooms could do with some significant upgrad
