The honest take
The St. Regis Mexico City on Paseo de la Reforma is the one to book if you want butler service, a spa, pool, gym and 189 reviewers rating it 9.4, all for a known $695 a night. Nima Local House in La Roma has no listed price here but scores higher on guest satisfaction with fewer facilities, trading scale for a smaller, individually decorated boutique feel. They sit 1.2km apart in different registers of the city: Reforma's corporate boulevard versus Roma's café-and-bar streets. If budget and full-service amenities matter, the St. Regis; if you want a smaller house with more personality per room, Nima.
The look and the feel
The St. Regis Mexico City
The St. Regis occupies a glass tower on Reforma, Mexico City's grand boulevard of embassies and insurance headquarters, and its interiors go for hushed, marble-floored formality: high ceilings, chandeliers, dark wood panelling, the kind of lobby where a butler in a morning coat can appear without seeming absurd. Two ballrooms and three restaurants keep the place feeling like a small self-contained institution rather than a single building, and the spa and rooftop pool give it a resort quality despite being downtown. It draws business travellers, wedding parties and anyone who wants the reassurance of an international five-star brand in the middle of a very large city.
Best for guests who want full-service five-star amenities, a pool and spa, and the predictability of an international luxury brand.
Nima Local House Hotel & Spa
Nima sits in Colima, a residential street in La Roma, a neighbourhood of early-20th-century mansions, jacaranda trees and small independent restaurants. The listing describes individually decorated rooms, a shared living room and a roof garden, suggesting a converted house rather than a purpose-built hotel, with the domestic scale that implies: fewer rooms, more personal touches, less corporate polish. It's the kind of place that suits people who'd rather have character and a neighbourhood feel than a full facilities list.
Best for guests who want a smaller, design-led house in a walkable, characterful neighbourhood rather than a big hotel's facility roster.
Nima has no listed pool, fitness centre, parking or pet allowance, so anyone wanting to swim, work out, drive in, or bring a dog will find the St. Regis better equipped.
The St. Regis is the more theatrically beautiful building, but Nima's mansion-conversion setting in La Roma is the more characterful place to actually spend an evening.

What a wonderful stay! We were upgraded to a beautiful suite room 1001. We also used their airport transportation and Roberto was excellent but so was the other driver. When we arrived the bellmen promptly assisted us with our luggage and we were checkin. We were excited to have seen the nice upgrade (am Ambassador) and they acknowledged my status. The whole stay was magical. The King Cole Bar is a wonderful space

“Treated Like Genuinely Welcomed Guests”
The St. Regis Mexico City is an outstanding hotel, and we can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like genuinely welcomed guests. That began at check-in, where the team took real care with our room selection, and it continued throughout our stay — there was always someone asking whether there was anything they could do to make our visit more enjoyable. That kind of consistent, at

“Impeccable rooms, perfect service”
The St Regis has the best service of any hotel in Mexico City. The rooms are impeccable, and the security is top notch. The terrace of the restaurant is lovely for a relaxed brunch any day (or every day) of the week. Special thanks to Iliana at the front desk for her outstanding hospitality and kindness.
This is quiet luxury at its finest. The service is particularly exceptional, and the atmosphere is beautiful and serene.

“First time guest at Nima House”
Nima house hands down is an elite level lodging 2 blocks east of Av Insurgentes sur road splitting the Roma Norte/La condesa neighborhood. Its location makes walking to each neighborhood easy, and simple for transportation pick up/drop offs.
The vibe of the hotel is quiet modern luxury with focus on resident experience providing a calm atmosphere to contrast the busy CDMX hustle.
